Ohio Newborn Fun

Oh the difference after your first baby! After we had Easton, we were out and about as soon as we could be. To every mama's credit: you are forced to do more since you have a toddler (or two) to entertain now and to my credit: we didn't have premature twins this time to keep inside and protect. So, we have jam packed lots of fun adventures to give the twins some attention during our newborn days. And...hello, it helped to have Aunts and Grandparents to be extra sets of hands!

Our first outing was to the Gahanna Christmas Tree lighting! Gahanna is a town near us that has community events ALL of the time...we love it! This year, they had the Christmas Tree lighting in the beginning of November!!! It was actually a "warm" night in Ohio so we packed everyone up (and Gigi) and headed to the show. Easton didn't make a peep in the Ergo and Mommy enjoyed breathing fresh air and walking around the lighted trails.

Next, I took the twins to my MOPS playgroup about 2 weeks after E was born. Gigi was home to watch Easton and since he was taken a bottle with no problem, I ran out the door with my big boy and girl to spend some time with them. This place was AWESOME. Its a playground equipment company that has a huge warehouse of their products to "demo." It is one of our new favorite places because a) it is indoors and b) on certain days it is only a $1 per FAMILY to play from 9-11am. $1? Absolutely. The twins park in the basketball goal area for a solid hour, then venture out to the playground equipment each time. Score!

Then one night, we stayed in and had a spa night for Papa T. Jenna worked and worked and worked. The Before and After pictures are....well, the same :)

Then, we went to a wonderful Holiday event up here in Ohio. It is called "Wildlights at the Zoo." They have no less than 5 million LED lights up ALL over the zoo! They even move some of the animals inside so you can view them at night. It is awesome! Since we are zoo members we get in free so we took Papa T, Aunt Robin, Nana and Papa! The kids love all the lights and light show around the lake. Of course we ride the carousel each time we go! Very impressive, Columbus!

Somehow, Ryan found a BOGO dozen doughnut coupon. You can't let those go to waste, people! So we packed up and enjoyed coffee and doughnuts one night. Don't let the smiles fool you....Mommy paid the price all night long throwing up the doughnuts she ate...got a little happy about the red velvet doughnuts. ugh.

And last but not least we made another trip to our fav COSI. Papa was getting a little cabin fever (THAT's where Ryan gets it!!!! haha). Anyway, we had a great time playing with the new train display. I fell in love with COSI even more when I found out they have a private nursing room with huge comfy leather chairs and diaper accessories. As usual, Easton did his thing asleep in my arms the whole time.
