This is, hands down, my favorite video right now. I might say that each time I post a video, but right now...this is IT. This video will be the vehicle we use to teach many lessons to our first born in the years to come. This, my friends, is what it means to be Baby A.
A few things to prep you for...
1- Caden's wierd dinosaur growl at the beginning...not sure what that is about?
2- Baby Boy walking so well! yea! Clap Clap!
3- After we tell Jenna "no touch" ... well, just watch the face she gives me as she struts by...
4- How excited I got when I thought Jenna was actually going to share her paci on her own free will...and then reality. :(
5- How Caden shaking his head "no" and backing himself into a corner just motivates Jenna further...
6- How Jenna flees the scene when Caden gets vocal...as if nothing happened here!

Sorry...we're still full...
Welcome back to this Sundays edition of "sorry we're full." Thanks for joining us again. I'm not sure who is not doing their part in the "pray for us department." I will have words with you if I find out who you are. KIDDING. Anywho, lets jump right in where we left off.
Monday: More than a sore throat
I wake up and my "defeat it mentally plan" has gone out the window. I am sick. I hardly slept most of the night and woke up feeling like a semi had run over me...a couple of times. It was a loong day taking care of the twins here at the house, I'll just say that. Jenna still has horrible little blisters popping up in between her toes and a couple on her hands. Diaper rash open sores are starting to scab so that is good? I think?
Tuesday: Upper Respiratory Infection
Valentines Day. Nothing more "lovey" than heading to a CVS minute clinic! Tuesday morning I am desperate for relief. I pack the twins up and go to minute clinic where I'm diagnosed with a head cold and upper respiratory infection. I get something for my constant coughing. Another long day with twinsies. We postponed V-day in our household. Ryan was sweet and managed to get out and get me a card and some chocolates. I got nothing....for anyone. :( We decide to split up the twins to keep Caden healthy and let Jenna get the attention she was demanding. Caden heads to my parents, Jenna to Ryan's parents. Hallelujah for willing grandparents! By Tuesday night, I have no voice.
Wednesday: feel like death.
I feel HORRIBLE...this has got to be more than upper respiratory infection. Don't sleep hardly at all. Meds are doing nothing.
Thursday: repeat and add
It's a repeat for me...I have a fever this morning. Ryan wakes up feeling really bad...uh oh. By Thursday night, he has fever and is super sick now too. This is just too awesome! We were going to do nice Valentine Dinner this night...it didn't happen. We both feel like doing nothing. We hear from grandparents...Caden is great...Jenna is getting better...diaper rash just red now...all sores are gone. yea! it IS possible to get better in our house after all!
Friday: ?
I have no words for Friday...we both feel the same except our fevers are gone. Ryan has super sore throat...I might be breaking a rib I'm coughing so much and I haven't breathed out of both sides of my nose in a week!
Saturday: Urgent Care
That's where I spent ALL morning. I basically tell the Doc that I am sick everywhere in the head, sinus, throat, and lung areas...give me something! So she gives me some great antibiotics to treat a sinus infection, bronchitis and upper respiratory infection. Thank You! Ryan feels bad through the day and has a rash on his hands and feet now...what is that? The kids are home with us...Caden is better - Jenna has runny nose and a cough still. Add another showing to this day.
Sunday: Home again
We miss church again. We have 2 showings on this yucky, cold, rainy day. Really!? Ryan thinks he has an ear infection so off to the doc he goes...he comes home with...it is almost funny. (Ryan, I said almost!) Yep...Hand, Foot, Mouth. He got it from Jenna. Never heard of an adult getting it? The past 2 weeks ANYTHING apparently goes here at the Little household. My 30-something year old husband has Hand/Foot/Mouth...he really should stop putting the twins' toys in his mouth and playing with the toys in the church nursery! haaaaa kidding. Poor guy...we really sympathize with Jenna now knowing how much of a nuisance it is! At this point, my white flag is up..whats the use in trying to keep Caden away from it now...he has been exposed multiple times. I, miraculously, feel MUCH better already---just needed that heavenly z-pac to knock this out!
I haven't taken one picture in 2 weeks...haven't cooked that I can remember...haven't done much in 2 weeks either! ugh...i'm ready to be healthy and healed...100% everyone!
So here I am again, another Sunday night wondering what Monday and the week holds?...hopefully this is the last installment of "sorry we're full" series. :)

Sorry, we're full...
Sorry everyone, this sick ward is full and not accepting any other patients. ugh. What a week it has been! Since last Monday night, we have not slept longer than 2 hours at a time except for Friday night and that is only because we called in grandparent reinforcements before we collapsed! It has been one of the most taxing weeks of my parenthood journey! (sorry, not much beats the first 7-10 days at home with newborn twins). Take a journey with us, wont you?
Monday: Teething Pains
Last Monday the twins were in rare form. Ridiculously fussy, not just fussy actually, pure screaming and crying most of the day. Wouldn't eat, wouldn't play together, they just wanted to be held. Every time I tried to hold them both in my lap, if one even touched the other, the world collapsed again and the shrieking began. After some investigation we found that Caden had 2 bottom molars trying to pierce through and Jenna did too!!!! It had already been a long day when I went to Bible Study that night and asked the girls to pray for relief from the teething and that we would have a better day Tuesday! ha!!!! is all I can say about that now. This is the best I can remember at this point!
Monday Night: Norovirus Victim #1
Caden lets out a loud, shrieking, very different scream around 1 am-ish? I go in there just in time to see him sit up and puke all over the place. We get him up, change him, change the crib sheets and lay him back down. This happens more through the night. Famous last words: I tell Ryan sometime around 2 am and our 2nd or 3rd throw up, "I hope this isn't that norovirus!"
Tuesday Night: Norovirus Victim #2
Jenna wakes up sometime before Midnight and can NOT be calmed down. Ryan and I try many things all through the night. At one point around 4 am I take her in the bonus room to hold her so we can get some sleep. After an hour she is still squirming and wont fall asleep. Around 5:30 I'm about to LOOSE it and go to try the one thing I haven't yet. (Tylenol didn't even calm her down!) I went to change her diaper and oh my! How can diarrhea that bad have no smell!? I promise I didn't smell it all night. Anyway, bless her heart, I apologized to her all day. In the mean time, her little diaper area looked like a chemical burn it was sooo agitated.
Wednesday: Norovirus Victim #3
Jenna has horrible diapers and screams each time I change her diaper most of the day. No naps are to be had today. ugh. Ryan gets home early so I grab a quick nap to get me through the night! He says his stomach hurts...I tell him it's just b/c we're exhausted from the last 2 nights. :) nope. wrong again. Around 7ish or 8ish...it unleashes. I'll just say that everything you hear about Norovirus is putting is politely compared to what it does to your body! So between Jenna and Ryan, no sleep this night either. We almost made a ER trip for Ryan at one point it got so bad.
Thursday: Fever and a Cough
Finally the morning came. Along with a phone call for 2 showings on our home. Probably should have cancelled those but I lysoled and chloroxed like it was my job. All while Ryan was too weak to move. So I packed him up and took him to his parents basement so he could sleep and get rest all day. That left me with cranky twins. No nap today either. ugh. I pick Jenna up at one point and she is on fire. It is so easy to tell when she has a fever. When I checked, yep, 103.4 and she acts every bit of it pitiful. I pack them up to pick up Ryan, disinfect the basement and come on home to try to have one peaceful night. Actually, I was convinced I would be victim #4 since it was claiming a victim each night! Anyway, Thursday was anything but peaceful...Jenna didn't sleep longer than 45 minutes maybe. Ryan needed to rest and sleep so I took all of Thursday night...allllll of it. Nothing helped Jenna, she kept waking up Caden who just wanted to sleep and was getting agitated with me and Jenna having our sleep battle! During the night, when I did drift off to sleep, I thought I heard a weird cough coming from the nursery but was too exhausted to know for sure.
Friday: The Croup all nighter
By Friday am, I am done. I need help. Ryan needs to get hydrated before he can have any energy to help me so what else do you do? CALL GRANDMA. (oh yea, before Friday, both Grandma's were out of town AND Aunt Robin and no way would I call anyone else into our family death plaque). So as soon as Mom rolled home in the driveway,I was sending a text begging if we could come over. So the twins and I head over to get some Grandparent love (twins) and a nap (ME!). We got both and lunch and dinner and some extra treats too. Jenna continues to develop a horrible dog bark-like cough anytime we lay her down so, yep, no nap again. We develop a plan to send Caden home with Ryan and my parents and I would tackle Jenna. Good thing we did. The boys had a great, uninterrupted night of sleep. My parents got no sleep. We took shifts holding her upright all through the night. Needless to say it wasn't good sleep for anybody except me b/c my parents sent me upstairs. I didn't move and my pillow was covered in drool...that's good sleep :) Jenna kept her fever and horrible bark and started to develop a rash so to the weekend doc we go.
Saturday: Spreading the Love
Here are the highlights from that appointment: 1-the Doc said he couldn't connect all the viruses together and just said we were having a horrible week. mmm thanks. 2- he was shocked at the state of Jenna's "diaper rash/ yeast infection" after I had been putting special cream on it so he wrote a prescrip for it. (it is horrible, folks) 3- said she had croup, yeast infection and hand/foot/mouth disease 4- told me Caden would most likely get it since it is so contagious if he didn't already. 5- said Jenna's mouth had lots of sores so no wonder she wasn't eating and sleeping.ugh.
Of course you can't do anything for HFM or the Croup cough as long as its controlled, so we left with a cream prescription for her diaper rash and yeast infection. double ugh. That night my Dad texts horrible words...we gave the Noro to Mom. She is super sick. Triple ugh. This day I also start having a sore throat...I tell Ryan I am going to mentally get over it...it's all mental :) (plus some Tylenol hehe). We are up alot through the night with Jenna still. Ryan tries to sleep on the couch with Jenna strapped in the Baby Bjorn. Pitiful, uncomfortable yet hilarious all at the same time. That only lasted an hour or two. We have moved Caden to his own bedroom for now so he can get his handsome sleep.
Sunday: more of the same
We are housebound excpet for 2 more showings (one was a 2nd showing so no way were we cancelling that one!)Can I just explain how hard it is to keep two kids, the same age, doing the same things, away from each other!? They have always swapped paci's, they aren't old enough to know which sippy cup is theirs, they are drooling maniacs thanks to those molars trying to pop through. Nonetheless, we have desperately tried to keep saliva and all other body fluids to themselves so Caden doesn't catch this HFM. Jenna's rash has turned to blisters and some of them are open sores. She has it on her mouth, feet, diaper area, and inside/outside of her mouth - PITIFUL!. On top of this, we find that our freezer in our garage was somehow unplugged and things are thawing! So I proceed to make 40 empanadas, pork loin roast, a chocolate chess pie and we still need to make like 5 lbs of stuffed shells, 2 pizza's and another pie. it simply might. not. happen.
Monday:
I think that is tomorrow...and there is no telling what it holds! Please pray for us, please? While your at it, praise God for protecting me from my choice of illness' this week! Me and R joked that although I had stayed healthy all week, I look just as bad as all of them...worn out! haha Pray for Caden's protection and for my sweet baby Jenna to heal just as quickly as this all came on her! Her croup has stayed under control so far with us holding her upright at night and hot, steamy bathroom sessions so that is a wonderful praise!
And in the meantime...STEER CLEAR of our house! :)

Twin Language
Here is the post you've been waiting for...can I confirm or deny that twins have their own language? I still don't know for sure, but I know that this is what I see and hear quite often...sure looks and sounds like they are communicating something! So here is the Little Twins' special twin language:

The Everyday...
I love these two video's so much they got their own blog post. Here is a glimpse into the everyday at the Littles....
Both of my kids LOVE books! If I am ever in a pinch and need to get something done, I can put them in their cribs with a bunch of books and they are set for 30 minutes or more! Caden has picked out his favorite book...its a Baby Einstein book that has mirrors on each page. Without us teaching him to do so...he looks at each page, sees his reflection and says the most adorable "Hi!" to himself! I could eat him.....
And this is another scene of the everyday. Jenna basically running circles around all of us and torturing Caden. As you will see, he will try to go get the ball she threw, but she sprints over to it and snatches it up to keep playing with herself. We think Jenna has increased her speed due to her aerodynamic, streamlined body form she takes when walking. You will notice, towards the end of the video, she puts her arms behind her back like those Alpine Ski Jumpers at the Olympics...Hilarious! (and lets just mention to be on the lookout for my big Boy taking such good steps in the beginning!!!!)

Sunday Afternoon Naps
...are the BEST. The twins absolutely collapse as soon as we put them in the car heading home from Church. A morning full of fun toys and playing can really wear you out! As soon as we feed them lunch we put them right back down...which is when Mommy usually runs and jumps in her bed, shoes on sometimes, to collapse as well. :)

15 months!
Hard to believe, isn't it?!? We went for our 15 month well visit last week and got a great report! Thank you God for growing, active on-track/getting-on-track:) children! We were very interested in seeing the twins' weight. Jenna can put down more food than adults and drinks so well from her sippy cup now. I can probably count on one hand the number of times Jenna has turned food away and told us she is "all-done." She's a tank! Caden, on the other hand...oh my. Since a little before 12 months...he turned into a nightmare to feed. He stopped feeding himself anything but crackers/cheerios. He will cry and scream because he is hungry but will not eat! We saw some signs of reflux yet again so we got him back on medicine which has helped. We also somehow figured out that he will eat anything as long as it is served on a spoon with a baby food puree/yogurt/apple sauce. I can't remember how we figured that out, but it is the only reason Caden is not malnourished right now! So, since we have found this little secret, we cram all we can into him...and I mean everything. He has a wonderful diet, healthy fruits, vegetables, whole grains and plenty of dairy. They eat solely what we are eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner now.
So you can imagine our surprise when Caden had hardly gained any weight from his 12 month appointment...he is still our "little" man! Here are the stats:
Jenna: 7% height / 18% weight / 20 lbs / 29 inches
Caden: 1% height / 2% weight / 19 lbs / 28 inches
They got a great report otherwise which we are so thankful for! They are such a joy these days...interacting, making each other laugh, giggle, smile, and yes, plenty of crying too :)They LOVE playing together...they are really never alone or separated. Jenna continues to be the dominant personality...so much so that we have started popping her hand when she takes toys/paci's away from Caden...which is like 10 times an hour! The clothes bin picture says it all. They were having a blast together playing around, but as soon as Caden started getting brave and moving more, touching Jenna, out came Baby A, as you can see in her facial expression. :)

I'm thrilled to post that they are both drinking from sippy cups! I can't remember what I have posted on here, but a few days after Christmas...Caden just picked up the stinkin cup and started drinking from it! Really, son? Weeks and weeks of screaming and fighting me just to pick it up and drink? Whew. Anyway, we have transitioned beautifully into drinking from the cup at meal times and snack times. Bottles...GONE!

They are so much fun to teach new words and movements! We high five, raise our hands up, talk on the telephone, wave bye-bye, point to our ears, tummy, nose, and head. Their first word was the same, ironically. And, it's a 2 syllable word! Anyway, Jenna said "all-done" first and then a week or so later, Caden started saying it! Now they pretty much have the same vocabulary of "da-da", "doh" (dog), "bah" (ball), and they sign "more", "all done" and we are working on "thank you" and "please." Notice what word is not listed..."mama." I believe they are intentionally not learning it now...must be a conspiracy. I say it 1,345 times a day trying to get them to mimic me. Of course not! Caden seems to pick up things quicker cognitively. We can show him how a toy works, where the on/off switch is, proper way to hold something and he picks it up immediately. Jenna does not like to be shown how to do anything! She will learn it herself, thank you very much. Where did she get that from!? wink.

Jenna is certainly looking to be a girlie girl. She will frequently bring us shoes to put on her feet, carry her headband and hat around and try to put it on her head. You want a cute headband on your head? Surething. With our without a shirt :)

Caden may have stolen the walking spotlight here lately, but Jenna Bear started walking at about 14.5 months...she was shaky for maybe 2 or 3 days then took off like a pro. I'll give her some video time on the blog here soon.
Favorite foods: pancakes, waffles, PBandJ sandwiches, crackers, sweet potato, yogurt and most any fruit. Jenna's favorite is mandarin oranges and Caden's favorite is any cracker in the world!

Caden has 10 teeth which include 2 top molars fully out and one more cutting through on the bottom...bless his heart! Jenna until the last week or so only had 5 teeth...but she has sprouted 3 teeth just in January.

They continue to be incredible sleepers...a true gift from God! They sleep 12 hours...from 7 pm to 7:30ish am. They have recently had spurts of waking up in between 7pm and 10 pm when they sit up then wake up scared and disoriented. As soon as we lay them down in the crib, they are asleep again. And it stops after 10pm, they sleep soundly through the night so no complaints here! We are experimenting with nap time. They would love to sleep 2 hours every morning but then they play, giggle and eventually scream at me during afternoon nap. So we have tried cutting the am nap to 1 hour, but unless we play HARD, they are not napping well in the afternoon. (Caden would nap every day, twice a day but his loud sister keeps him up in the afternoon :) ). This week I'm trying to keep them up in the morning to see how they sleep in the afternoon (so far a good 2 or 2.5 hour nap). They are miserable in the morning which tells me they still need a cat nap in the am so we will keep playing around. Any suggestions you experienced mama's?
Love my grown up babies!
