Vacations! Vacations!

Vacation has been so fun this year with two babies in tow! We definitely do not come home rested anymore! It takes another week to unpack and recoup from our "relaxing" vacations. Our families have been so gracious to us and offered to help us with changing, burping, feeding, and playing with the twins.

Right after the wedding, we came home for ONE night, unpacked, washed, repacked and headed to the Lake with Ryan's side of the family. We had a wonderful time! The twins started teething that week so they were up and down all night. Caden turned into a temporary rooster and woke up at 5:45 am every morning. They were terribly off schedule the week after that!

The twins were able to have their 1st boat ride thanks to Nana for finding infant lifevests!

This is Uncle Brent taking up the challenge to feed the twins their lunch. Minimal spillage and crying. Good job Uncle Brent!

Aaaaand this is Uncle Brent when the boat broke down. We are not getting anywhere fast with that paddling! hehe :)

After all of this excitement, we came home and had a week of terror getting the twins back on a schedule, then Ryan left for camp for a week. I somehow narrowly survived thanks to wonderful family members who came and gave me breaks during the day and night! Despite all of the novelty of twins and how cute they are sitting next to each other, pink and blue, bla bla bla, two babies teething at the same time is a nightmare. The next week we packed up and hit the beach for the 4th.
Before everyone else joined us, me and Gigi took the twins out to the Shag Dancing Contest. The twins loved looking at everyone and listening to the music :) We dressed them up in some good patriotic gear. They were passing out free beach balls so we took one for the twins. It would later be the cause of a very upset Jenna when Caden kept kicking the ball right in her face. Will have to get those pics from Aunt Robin to show you :)

One day, we rode the Fort Fisher ferry and took the twins over to the rocks. Dont worry, we didn't go all the way across, but I'm sure Papa T will take them over to Zeke Island one day!
Getting them on the ferry was a little tricky!

We decided we really need a wagon now to carry all of our stuff out to the beach. So we got one the last day we were there :) Oh well, its waiting for us for future beach trips!

We should play an "I Spy" game involving babies. :)

This is us after we unloaded just my stuff, moms and the twins stuff. Geez! Another game of "I Spy"?

That bottle must be good!

Love my little man!

The beach wind has created this perma hawk on little Jenna.

They were such big sitters and loved sitting up by themselves watching everyone walk by at the 4th of July celebration in Southport.

And here are the boys...they look worn out from a fun vacation!

And we will end with my favorite picture snapped during the week at the beach. Looooove how precious Caden looks!

  1. What wonderful vacations! Sorry about the teething and crankiness though! They sure are cute though!

  2. I can't even imagine seeing all of your stuff packed up unloaded and then reloaded. :) And C & J look too cute all bundled up in their boating gear. If it weren't for their pacis, hats and glasses you wouldn't have been able to tell who is who.
