Well, as you can tell one of my new year resolutions is not to blog on time...that is asking WAY to much. But, I'm airing out the laundry and putting my 4 resolutions out there for whoever reads this to help keep me accountable. Maybe if I have to blog about (a month or two late) then I will stick with it :) OR you can share with me ideas you have on the subject(s). So here goes:
1- Memorize scripture each month. This includes the reference! How many times do I ask Ryan or a friend: "where is that verse that talks about XXX...." Shame, shame. I should know better. I'm very good at remembering general ideas, but I want to know Jesus' words exactly !
January: "I knew you before I formed you in your mothers womb. Before you were born, I set you apart." Jeremiah 1:5 - yea from memory!
2- Drink more water. This is dual purpose: to be healthier in general and to help with nursing Easton. I literally can't tell you how I produced enough milk to feed the twins - I don't remember drinking water much at all. So with Easton, I'm FINALLY leveling off with normal amounts of milk (instead of producing enough for the twin E doesn't have! poor, confused body). Now, I can tell If don't have enough sleep, my milk goes down so I'm going to combat that with mega amounts of water.
January: decided on a specific amount each day so I can have a goal to work toward instead of drinking one glass and calling it a day:) Half my weight in ounces...that's ALOT of water :) Doing good so far! I've found a mega cup we have and all I have to do it drink 3 of those a day. Makes it MUCH more attainable in my head.
3- Read 4 books in 2013. I know, this seems so pathetic...esp to my Dad who reads all.the.time. Only 4 books? But you have to start somewhere! I don't love reading and struggle making time to read when it is not something I enjoy. So, four books it is: any type, any length, any subject. I is going to get smarter this year :)
January: Halfway through "Loving the Little Years" ... again. I've read it twice already but I felt I needed it right now in my life stage so it is first on the list. Love this book!
The last goal is a multi-level goal. Fancy, I know. But, I'm done having kids, milk supply is going great with E... it is time to loose the lard. I want 75% of my clothes back. No maternity in the closet. It's time. So here goes:
4 - Get to Pre-Easton weight. Get to Pre-Twin weight. If I can get to pre-twins in 2013, I will be very thankful. That will leave all of 2014 to loose all the hormone-shots-and-pills weight before any of the kids' pregnancies. ugh. That number seems quite impossible to reach, so it is for another year! :)
January: 10 lbs down in January. This is SO hard. I'm so hungry. :)
Ok, there they are! I will tell myself that bloggers all over the country are waiting for the February update, so I better not dissapoint. :) chuckle, chuckle. And Random...but who wants to read a post with no pictures? So....your welcome.

iFun with mommy's iPhone
She's too smart for her own good. Look what I found on my phone today. Have no idea when or where I was during this photo shoot. If its anything like the other mischievous acts lately ... I was probably nursing Easton.
Get mommy while she's down .... Smart little boogers.

Cabin Fever...
has set in.
And while this is beautiful...
this is not:
nor this:
We have succumbed to sillyness...
and rabid eating of anything we can find. Including half a bag of white chocolate chips when Mommy was feeding Easton...
Is is summer? ... or at least above freezing temperatures yet? :)

This is Snow much fun!
Ok Raleigh, I totally get why the North makes fun of us "Southerners." It has snowed every week we have been home from Christmas. Granted, sometimes it is just a flurry, no accumulation, but equal to a bread and milk sweep-up and school delay in NC. :) It is hardly newsworthy up here, just an icon on the 7-day forecast. So far, we have missed the big snow dump - that happened while we were in NC for Christmas, but I'm not naive: we still have February to go.
Anyway, when we came home from break, we still had 7 inches in parts of our yard from Christmas/New Years (when the high doesn't get out of the 20's for weeks straight, not much melts...) So, we did the parental duty of layering and bundling the kids up to go play in the snow while Easton was napping one day when Daddy got home from work. Nightmare for us, delight for the kids :) We had a great time watching their first real interaction with snow. But first, Dad had to go buy a snow shovel/salt and clear our driveway. Oh what fun!
Jenna loved it immediately and went exploring across the yard with no troubles... Caden was content to stand there for a long time and laugh like jolly old Santa! He eventually got brave to try walking in it with some help from Mom and Dad.
Yes, Caden thought it was hilarious that Jenna kept falling down...
Here is a video of what I get to hear alot of lately...and it is definitely a point in the good memory column for Ohio. You can't help but smile when you hear "biiiiiiiggg snooow" every time your kids walk by the window. (and this particular snow ended up being 3 inches in a short amount of time...it doesn't look too impressive in the video...)
And the last video: it's funny how you don't have to teach reciprocation in a snowball fight :). And then what do you get when you add a puppy + snow = puppy IN the snow which also = estatic twins.

And now...it has snowed the past two days. We get a "break" today, then it will snow the next 2-3 days again......Looks like I should have invested in real snow boots and gloves for our winter up here. Here is a video of what I get to hear alot of lately...and it is definitely a point in the good memory column for Ohio. Easton: 2 months!
(So, Big-E is coming up on 3 months so I'm trying to write this based on the notes I wrote in my phone over the Christmas break while he was technically 2 months old...so bear with me!)
My sweet baby boy...how can it be? The past month for you has been so busy! We have thrown you in that carseat like a stuffed toy and carried you all over towns, states, stores, you name it. And yet you lay there and sleep, sleep, stare around and sleep. You are SUCH an easy baby...then again, maybe I would be saying that about any baby after having twins first, but truly, I know God gave us exactly what we could handle right now with your brother and sister in their current state (crazy 2 yr olds!). We have no issues with colic, gas , reflux (thank you sweet Jesus!), sleeping positions, self-soothing....nothing! wow! I think I've said it before but many times your Dad and I will look at each other and talk about how we were doing things with the twins at this point. Jenna had a ferocious fussy time between 8-11pm EVERY. single. night until she was about 12 weeks old. Not a peep out of you so far. Please keep that up buddy...it is mommy and daddy's first chance at sitting down all day :)
At around 6 weeks, you started giving side-mouth smiles. They can brighten any frustrating moment I might be going through! Gradually you learned the wide-open-mouth smile your brother used to give. It brings me to goo just about every time.
At 8 weeks you started the infamous baby blowouts. That is another trait I was fully appreciating - not having to change outfits 3 times a day like we did with bro and sis. Even now, you have yet to ruin an outfit. They are containable if we act fast:) Caden and Jenna love to come up while I'm changing you and yell in disgust "biiiigggg grrrooooossssss." It is hilarious.
Caden and Jenna have figured out your probably not going anywhere since you have stuck around this long. They walk up to you and say "hey Eastchaa" and bee-bop on their way. They are actually quite helpful to mommy when I need your paci or your blanket. I've caught Jenna trying to shove your paci in once, nothing to forceful, but something she probably doesn't need to feel entitled to do with her personality :) Their screaming, running around and occasional flying toy doesn't seem to bother you a bit. In fact, you move your head side to side watching them in the room.
I really think you are going to be a phenomenal sleeper once we get settled in one place at a time and your healed from your congestion. Your doing the occasional 5 hr stretch at night, but really your stuck in a 3 hr pattern all day and night. If we were at home in our separate rooms, I would you cry it out a bit and I'm sure you would go back down - your getting plenty of milk! Instead, we are either in the same room with you or right next door to you and don't want to wake up the rest of the house so I get you up and nurse you. At least you can sleep anywhere without trouble: a bassinet, an old cradle, a bouncy seat, your real crib, your car seat and empty dresser drawers :)You and me both will probably get a wrist slap at your 2 month appointment. You.Are.Huge!!!!! Not really, just compared to your siblings. Newborn sleepers are a thing of the past, newborn onesies look like spandex on you and my word...your so heavy!
You have two birthmarks...one is on your eyelid. We really didn't see it for weeks because your eyes were so bruised from your quick delivery. (your fault, not mine, buddy!) But you have a little red patch on one eyelid that the Doctor said will probably go away. Your second one is a bit bigger at the base of your neck. Alot of babies have this kind of birthmark so the Doctor said it may stay or go - we will see! Your skin appears to be as fragile as Caden's. Very sensitive! It has been so cold here that we keep the heat HIGH. We have to bathe you in lotion and Aquaphor or your little skin gets crackly and red. :(
Now...for your 2 month appointment. You got an A+ in everything! You are perfectly healthy and growing, growing. Thank you, Lord! We do not take it for granted! And for the numbers: you weigh 14lb 4oz!!!!! That is the 90-95%! What? The twins weight percentage has never been close to 90%...COMBINED! And your height is 24 inches (85%!!!) What? You are tall? Still trying to swallow that one... It is all in sync with your head circumference of 40.7 (90-95%). Wow. So I knew you were getting heavy, but did NOT expect this. So since birth, you have gained 1lb a week. Unbelievable! This every 3 hr feeding thing is going to stop immediately - you are apparently getting plenty of milk to sustain life and burst through the growth charts :) And, for comparison sake, and to show you why I'm wigging out about how fast you are growing: Caden and Jenna were 14 lbs at their SIX month appointment...6 months old to get where you are now at 2 months. How precious to have a chunky monkey with rolls! :)
We came home and took your "first shots" photo. I can't get over how much you look like your brother here. You were fussy that evening and that evening only. Whew!
And now, for some other random happenings during your 2nd month:
Easton, what a joy...a true joy. We are so glad you are part of our family - admittedly, it has taken some time for me to remember you (your so quiet!!!) and get used to having 3 kids, but now I can't picture our family without you! Love you my little E-Stud.

And now, for some other random happenings during your 2nd month:
Mommy tries to soak up her quiet moments with you: they are few and far between, let me tell ya!
You got to meet your "aunt/uncle/cousins": the Hudgins! They love you buddy and we love them! You will be seeing alot of them as you grow up:)
You were nice and did not spit up on Cousin Cullen.
Aunt Cindy!
Your eyes are still a deep, newborn blue. We will see if you keep Daddy's eyes, get Mommy's brown eyes, or land in the middle like your siblings.

New Years at the Beach
I have yet to find a better invitation for New Years than to my beloved Oak Island BEACH! It is SO dead down there, but so perfect after a hectic Christmas week. We can just chill, relax, do whatever we want! In this stage of life...yes, please.
Papa T and Easton could frequently be found lounging around together....
As my sister put it, why spend money on "2013 glasses" when you have these bad boys? :)
Poor, poor Easton. We didn't have room for lots of the newborn "amenities" we usually have on hand, so he had to roll with the punches (story of his life so far!).
It was a fairly mild day on our last morning at the Beach. Mommy HAD to make it on the beach and get sand on her shoes!

Who wouldn't want to lounge around with this precious face!?

Mommy and Jenna had a special girl time. Painting Jenna's nails for the first time! As if she needed any other reason to be sassy...

Jenna doesn't look to confident in this plan, Uncle Brad....
If you spent anytime with us this Fall / Christmas, you know Caden's new thing is to say "bye-bye" to everything when he leaves a room. This is him saying "bye-bye ocean."
