It's The Little Things...: Easton: 5 months

Baby Easton, oh my big boy - 5 months came quick! I LOVED this age with your brother and sister and the same can be said for you! I can't say enough how sweet and smiley and snuggly you are. Such a blessing! Your fifth month (March) was more transition. Thank goodness you handle transition like a champ b/c you have already experienced a years worth. The month of march we packed up everything we had in trucks and headed down to God's country : North Carolina :) Mommy *tried* to remember and forecast anything you would need throughout the summer and pull it aside to take to Gigi and Papa T's house. I miserably failed - many a fun thing, cute outfit or helpful tool is packed inside our storage unit with no hopes of getting it until we move. :( Anyway, your doing fine and have no idea your missing anything so all is well.

Your little face is rounding out just like your brothers did! Your very distinct chin is getting lost in all of those squishy cheeks. This is because you had your first major, noticeable growth spurt at the beginning of the month. Whoa, I was beginning to wonder what had gotten into you since you took so long to show signs of a growth spurt yet continued to grow like a fertilized weed. I finally had to start putting a bib on you this month - you began to drool like crazy! I thought perhap you were teething early but then remembered this is the time you babies start producing your saliva. So no teeth popped through but the yucky stage of bibs has come upon us.

At the begnning of this past month, right after you turned 4 months old you began to hold your toys very well. You began to reach out for them, hold them, move them from hand to hand so we brought out some of the few things mommy remembered to set out. You also had such good head control and strength we busted out the exersaucer. It is worth its weight in gold. You LOVE it. Mommy loves it. Yes, yes, yes. You twirl all around that thing grabbing toys, making every musical toy go off and you sound like your taking off from Cape Canaveral when you get in a good rhythm of jumping.

It also became a new toy for your brother and sister. They move all around it testing buttons and spinning rattles showing you the ropes.

The wonderland you put me in with your easy bedtime routine became shaky, as expected this month. I knew it couldn't be that easy for good! At around 4.5 months, you began waking up at 5 am - every morning! You would coo, talk, laugh, squeal, cry out in frustration, squeal again, just make any noise you could! It would last about an hour then you would drift off to sleep for another 1- 1.5 hours. Mommy knows this is a normal stage, but when your right outisde our room and not in your own bedroom with the door shut, it is loud and frustrating, a little annoying, slightly cute and tiresome. Your daddy and me tried to put pilllows over our heads, go soothe you, give you a paci, turn the mobile on and.....nothing worked. You just wanted to do your thing and go back to bed on your own time. Thank goodness it was a phase, but it lasted about 3 weeks. Those were early mornings. ugh.

Also, this past month, your eczema got OUT.OF.CONTROL. Scary out of control. Horrible patches popped up all over you, red, raised, sometimes oozing spots. It looked miserable. So once we took you to the Doctor, he said your eczema was infected and you needed an antibiotic to treat it from the inside. ugh. big mistake. It did nothing but hurt your tummy and make you "uncharacteristically fussy Easton." yuck. After that didn't work, we got a strong, RX cream and what do you know....after 2 days you had silky, smooth baby skin again. Sorry about that, bud! As long as we keep you creamed up, we have no problems!

As your "build" would suggest, your eating just fine. We are still doing every 3 hours during the day starting around 7 am. I'm holding you off on solids as long as I can. Mommy is permanently scared from the fiasco we experienced with your brother and solids, but you are waking up earlier and earlier and not lasting as long as you used to so the time is near!

Even though you have just now turned 5 months, you have been wearing 6 month clothes for a while...your wearing size 3 diapers and honestly...all socks leave a red indention in your chunky cankle-calf-legs.

Although your squished like a pancake, you love your bumbo because you think are 13. We put your tray on the seat and let you play with all of your teethers. Sometimes, you become the student and Jenna is your teacher showing you how all of your toys work. Get used to it buddy :)

You were the cutest little lucky charm for St. Patricks day. I put this outfit on you for like a week straight. SO CUTE.

You went to your first Easter Egg hunt and pulled off the "ridiculously cute baby" card very well.

You celebrated your first Easter at church and at our family easter lunch/easter egg hunt. Your Easter basket contained diapers and wipes (the contents gets better with age, I promise buddy!)
